"In this city of artificial stars"

Son Volt turned in another amazing performance at the House of Blues last night. We hung out with (ok, near) the band in the Foundation Room after the show and Chevas got the whole band to sign her ticket.

They played mostly songs off Okemah and Traces but they also played two new songs and a Kinks' cover.

Curt Kirkwood (Meat Puppets) played a listenable solo set beforehand and the Drive-By Truckers closed the show. Posted by Picasa

So...how were the Drive-By Truckers? Did Scott disappoint you in his assessment?

Not at all. The Drive-By truckers rocked the house. They had a lot more fans than Son Volt too. I liked the fact that all three guitarists shared lead singer duties. Although, three electric guitars pretty much made for a wall of sound so I couldn't understand a word they said.

The thing is, after Son Volt played, we headed upstairs to the Foundation Room so I really only saw about 30 mins of their set.

But I'd go see them again if they come back aorund.
